Medical Training Week

We just finished 4 days of training for our Medical mission, and we are so tired.  We met Monday with 4 nurses and 4 doctors all with their spouses, in the Church Offices Building for the first of 3 days, hour by hour getting the most interesting lectures and teachings from the most qualified medical professionals the Church has to offer.  And the fourth day we met in Draper, Utah at the Metadyne building for computer training and introduction to the Missionary Medical website, the LDS email for secure handling of private medical information.   We are feeling overwhelmed with information and spiritually fed.  

One of the special parts of the week was meeting a new friend.  Dr. Ruiz from Mexico City was in town for the training and staying with his family in Layton, so we offered to pick him up and take him home.  He spoke very little English and we spoke very little Spanish, and we had so much fun trying to learn each other's language, he named our language "Spanlish", and we left each other promising to be "eternal friends".  

We arrived home just in time for Dan and his family to come and go to the Ward Surf and Swim Party tonight, then off  to Texas they go tomorrow, we will really miss them.

We are two weeks late leaving for the MTC now,  and still no visa's.  It looks like we may not leave until Aug. 23 now.  I hope they come soon, we are so ready to go.
